Your first session is primarily about getting to know you. Your therapist will ask about your background, what brings you to therapy, and what you're hoping to achieve. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with — it's entirely your pace.

Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. Everything you share stays between you and your therapist, with very limited exceptions required by law (e.g. imminent risk of harm). Your therapist will explain these fully in your first session.

We accept most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Carelon Behavioral Health, Cigna, Horizon Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey, and Quest Behavioral Health. We recommend contacting your insurer directly to verify your mental health benefits before your first session. We also offer a sliding scale fee structure for clients without insurance or with financial constraints.

This varies depending on your goals and circumstances. Some people find meaningful relief in 8–12 sessions; others prefer longer-term support over months or years. We'll regularly review progress together and adjust as needed — your journey is uniquely yours.

The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in positive outcomes, and fit matters. If you feel another therapist would suit you better, please let us know and we'll assist with referrals to make the transition as smooth as possible — no awkwardness, no pressure.
